Determinants of human capital sustainability in SMEs: the case of the cities of Bucaramanga, Montería, and Palmira

Resumen

Conocer las condiciones actuales del capital humano en las pequeñas
y medianas empresas de algunas regiones del territorio colombiano, a partir de los
antecedentes investigativos llevados a la práctica en la actividad empresarial. Metodología.
Se trata de una investigación de enfoque cuantitativo que describe la estructuración del
capital humano, la conformación laboral, las responsabilidades en los cargos del capital
humano y las distintas estrategias para su mejora en las pequeñas y medianas empresas.
La información se obtuvo mediante una encuesta de 20 preguntas cerradas, tipo Likert
de frecuencia con 5 opciones de respuesta, validada con una prueba de expertos y una
confiabilidad de 0,940 según el coeficiente alfa de Cronbach, aplicada a una muestra de
523 pequeñas y medianas empresas de las regiones de Montería, Bucaramanga y Palmira;
esta encuesta fue procesada con el software SPSS. Resultados. Los resultados muestran las
estrategias más importantes utilizadas para gestionar el capital humano, las fortalezas y
debilidades en los diferentes tipos de contratación, los procesos de capacitación utilizados,
la remuneración y las relaciones laborales. Se establece en el estudio la importancia en
los procesos de formación para el fortalecimiento de las capacidades empresariales y el
aprovechamiento de las ventajas competitivas de las empresas. Conclusiones.
