Será que investir em práticas sustentáveis compensa? Análise empírica Inovação Verde e Desempenho Financeiro no Paquistão

A inovação verde auxilia as empresas a reduzirem seu impacto ambiental, ao mesmo tempo que aumentam a eficiência, a competitividade e a lucratividade. Este estudo examina o impacto da inovação verde no desempenho financeiro de empresas no Paquistão, utilizando dados em painel de 2015 a 2024. Com o crescente foco global na sustentabilidade, compreender como as práticas ambientalmente responsáveis influenciam os resultados econômicos é crucial — principalmente em economias em desenvolvimento como o Paquistão, onde o crescimento industrial frequentemente entra em conflito com as preocupações ambientais. O estudo adota uma abordagem quantitativa, utilizando modelos de regressão com efeitos fixos para observar a relação entre inovação verde e desempenho financeiro, testando também o papel mediador da conformidade regulatória e o efeito moderador do tamanho da empresa. Os resultados mostram uma relação positiva estatisticamente significativa entre inovação verde e desempenho financeiro, avaliado pelo Retorno sobre Ativos (ROA), Retorno sobre Patrimônio Líquido (ROE) e Q de Tobin. Constatou-se que a conformidade regulatória melhora essa relação, sugerindo que as pressões institucionais reforçam os benefícios financeiros das práticas sustentáveis.
