The Revista Perspectiva Empresarial is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary publication. The Journal covers the main fields of research in economics and finance, providing a specialized forum for analytical research of the highest quality in the following areas: economics of organizations, knowledge management in companies, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Journal has been consolidated as a leading frame of reference in the academic-scientific environment, standing out at the highest levels of quality editing and academic rigor.

The Journal is aimed at professors, researchers and undergraduate and graduate students, its complete collection is available through open access on its website.

Publication and authorship

The Journal does not accept previously published material or that is being considered in another publication. Authors must ensure that the data has been obtained ethically, in addition to obtaining permission to reproduce the material in other publications and to cite its source correctly. The Journal is not responsible for the opinions expressed by the authors. Also, the authors must strictly follow the editorial norms for the publication of their works.

Authors may reproduce their work in other publications by previously requesting authorization from the Editor, clearly indicating the data of the original publication. The Journal reserves the rights of printing, total or partial reproduction of the material, as well as the right to accept or reject it. It also reserves the right to make any editorial changes it deems appropriate.

Copyright

The procedures regarding the copyright policy are described in the “Letter of assignment of rights,” which the authors must accept and sign at the time they send the article to the Journal. Only persons who have contributed intellectually to the structure and construction of the article should appear as the author.

To be listed as an author, the following requirements must be met: Authors must ensure that they have written the entire article; authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design and execution of research; those who have made significant contributions must appear as co-authors; Authors must ensure that they have approved the final version of the article and have agreed to its presentation for publication from the beginning of the process in the Journal.

Peer Review Process

Submitted manuscripts are subjected to a pre-selection, review and selection process. Manuscript reception does not imply any commitment regarding its publication. The Editorial Committee, which accepts or rejects the original articles according to the editorial guidelines, oversees the initial pre-selection of the works. After the pre-selection has taken place, the Editorial Committee submits the article to the Journal Editor, who may request changes to be made and make corrections deemed necessary so that the document fits the Journal requirements. Then, the manuscript can be submitted for a double-blind review –using previously established review criteria– by two external academic peers, who are subject matter experts. Academic peers have three weeks to review the article and submit an appraisal to the Editor, which may be one of the following: accepted without changes, accepted pending minor changes with no new review required, accepted pending major changes with a new review required, and rejected for publication in the Journal. In the event the academic peers´ review differs widely, the issue will be initially settled by the Editor and the Editorial Committee and, if needed, a third evaluation will be requested.

The review process respects the anonymity of both authors and academic peers. If the article is accepted, with either minor or major changes, the Editor will send the revision to the corresponding author via e-mail so that the changes proposed by the academic peers are made. Once the Editor has received the final version of the article, and upon verifying compliance with the proposed suggestions and analyzing the reasons provided for those that have not been considered, the revised manuscript will be sent back to the same academic peers for a second review before final approval. The process of reviewing and accepting submitted material may take an average of three months.

Articles or cases may be accepted without changes, accepted with changes, accepted with substantive modifications and pending new arbitration, or rejected. The journal will issue its decision based on the appraisal from two academic peers. In case of conflicting appraisals, the editor may call a third reviewer, resolve the conflict themselves, or submit it to the committees for consideration. The authors will have the right of reply during the process (to explain the changes made and those not addressed or to make their position known with regards to the reviewer´s arguments). However, the official decision issued by the journal will be final.

Perspectiva Empresarial will strive to issue full results of the review within an average of three months.

In order to guarantee a constructive revision of the manuscripts, the following review criteria is to be observed:

1. The revision should highlight the shortcomings or strengths of the text rather than those of its author.

2. Both language use and appraisals must always be respectful.

3. Making clear suggestions (bibliography, theoretical perspectives, methodological adjustments) which render the text academically sounder is very useful to the authors.

4. If you have any conflict of interest when reviewing the text, we ask you to inform the Journal in the shortest possible time.

Open Access policy

This journal provides free access to its content through its website following the principle that making research available free of charge to the public supports a larger exchange of global knowledge.

Web content of the journal is distributed under a Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International.

This License allows others to distribute, mix, adjust and build from the authors' work, even for commercial purposes, whenever the authorship of the original creation is recognized.

Code of ethics

The Journal adheres to ethical standards with the purpose of guiding the authors, the Editor and academic peers in the performance of their duties.

Duties of the Editor

Publication decisions: The Editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the Journal should be published. The publication decision should be guided by the policies of the Journal Editorial Board, and should be based exclusively on the academic merit and the decision of the academic peers.

Honesty: An Editor should evaluate articles for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality: The Editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted article to anyone other than the corresponding author, academic peers, potential evaluators, editorial advisers, as appropriate.

Duties of academic peers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions: Peer review assists the editors in making editorial decisions.

Promptness: Any selected peer who feels unqualified or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the Editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Confidentiality: Any articles received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to, or discussed with others except as authorized by the Editor.

Standards of Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Peers should express their views clearly with arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources: Peers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A peer should also call to the Editor attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

The Journal bases its code of ethics on the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The Journal agrees and signs the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA).

The Journal verifies the originality of each document

Conflict of Interest

The Journal expects the authors to declare any business association that could potentially involve a conflict of interest. The Journal tries to guarantee that all the articles that are published are as objective as possible. Since it can be difficult to distinguish between a real conflict of interest and a perceived conflict of interest, the Journal requires authors to make an effort to identify them.

The authors must certify that they do not have a conflict of interest derived from financial, patrimonial interests or personal or professional relationships that may affect the investigation of the article or the publishing institution. They must also specify the source of funding for the research to be published.

Retraction policy

The Journal’s policy is not to alter or eliminate the published scientific record, under the interest that the articles should remain unchanged as far as possible. The Journal responds to suggestions of scientific and ethical misconduct or to convincing evidence that the published data is wrong. This may require the publication of a retraction or formal correction.

Corrections of problems that do not significantly affect the reader's understanding, such as por example spelling or citation errors, will not be published. The correction is free and is linked to the article that corrects.

The amendments requested to the Journal are divided in errata, corrections and retractions or addenda.

Errata (erratum)

An erratum applies only to cases where the Journal introduces errors without the knowledge of the author during the editing process. The author has a series of cases where errors can and should be corrected such as the name of the author, email, keywords, title, significant typographical errors, errors in numbers of figures or tables or their legends, proof corrections sent but not included in the article during editing.

Corrections

The corrections are requested from the Editor when the authors detect errors after the publication of the article that compromises the validity of the scientific content and its reproducibility. The corrections are judged by their relevance to the readers and their importance to the published record. The corrections are judged according to whether the main conclusion of the article is no longer maintained or is seriously undermined as a result of the subsequent information that the authors do not know at the time of publication.

If readers detect a significant error in any document, they are asked to send their comments as “Letter to the editor.” These articles sent as “Letter to the editor” will be reviewed by two academic peers and will also be sent to the original authors for comments. The “Letter to the editor” and the comments of the original authors will be published in the same number.

Retractions

Retractions are published if the Editor has clear evidence that the published data is unreliable, either as a result of misconduct (for example, data fabrication or plagiarism) or an honest error (for example, calculation error). In the event of a retraction, the registration article will have a digital watermark with the word ‘Retracted’.

Metadata

Article metadata can be tracked and accessed with permission. The Journal allows the readability of files and their metadata under the OAI-PMH interoperability protocol that allows them to be available in international databases. This protocol collects metadata automatically and standardized. The files are available in HTML and PDF format, which facilitates the reading of them on any device and computing platform.

DOI system

The Journal supports the DOI of data for the registration and use of identifiers in digital networks. The DOI system is a way to identify the article regardless of its URL, so that the object still has the same identification. Its use provides information through metadata of the digital object (author, title, publication data, and references).

Archiving

The Journal uses the LOCKSS system for the preservation and distribution of data for conservation and restoration purposes. LOCKSS is a reliable mechanism to guarantee and ensure long-term digital integrity.

No APC cost

The Journal encourages open access. Texts submitted for review, published texts and downloads are free of charge. The Journal rejects the Article Processing Charge (APC) business model.
